The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) is the state service of the Republic of Latvia, which implements state policy in the field of fire safety, fire fighting, rescue and civil protection, as well as to monitor the implementation of fire safety laws and civil protection requirements. Within Latvian-Lithuanian cross-border cooperation program, the VUGD got new mascot – the lynx-firefighter and “Auguma Lelles” company created mascot costume using illustrations provided by the customer.
The suit of this bright character consists of a large fux head and gloves, firefighter ’s uniform (jacket and trousers) with reflective elements and chevrons. There is a protective yellow helmet on the head of the mascot. A lot of attention was paid to the facial details of the character, whats why mascot costume looks very nice and cheerful. High-quality synthetic materials were used in production of mascot costumes. In the mouth of the mask is an hole through which the actor can look and breathe, actor’s face is hidden with semitransparent mesh. Costume is designed for actor height 180cm.
